Hi everyone,
My name is Danny Seffens, and I am the drummer for r_p. When I was asked to write a biography for the website, I immediately (e.g. eventually) began pondering the point in my life that would make the most appropriate starting point for my assignment. So, here goes...
It all began when my mom and dad met in high schoo...wait, is that too much information? I have a tendency to ramble. OK, so on a more serious note, I am extremely blessed to be part of redemption_plan, and even more blessed to be a child of God. I've always been musically inclined, singing in chorus and playing tuba in school. I know you're thinking, "Why would anyone ever want to quit playing the tuba. Tuba is sooooo cool." Trust me, it was a very difficult decision, but I felt it had to be made. I was involved in several secular bands before God saved me. He had bigger plans for the talents He'd given me, and I give him all the credit for who I am and what I do as a member of the body of Christ. After all, as human beings we were created to give God glory.
I was saved in April, 2002 at Hibernia Baptist church, and my life has not been the same since. My beautiful wife, Michele, and my three boys, ages 7, 7, and 2, are the most important things to me here on Earth. I am so thankful for their unconditional love and for supporting me in this ministry.
My life verse is Matthew 6:33, which says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Seeking God first can sometimes be a difficult thing to do, but I believe that verse with all my heart. If we will focus on God and being obedient to Him, He will provide everything we need (not necessarily "want") in this world.
My prayer for you is that you will seek God first in everything you do.
